    Family

    At a young age, Haruka lost her parents from an accident and was left in the care of her last living and closest relative, her uncle Hoshi. Despite her uncle being a policeman, Haruka always found it fun to play around with him. It does annoy him at times, but fortunately for her, there's one thing he can never do. He can never hate Haruka even if he wanted to. She may be a troublesome girl, but she also has a kind and caring soul.

    School

    You can say that Haruka is an average type of student. She's not dumb nor smart. She may complain about math sometimes, but who doesn't like math? Haruka does like a bit of literature and science though, but most of all, she loves gym class and her fave co-curricular activity, which is Kendo (剣道), meaning 'sword way', 'sword path' or 'way of the sword'. It is a traditional Japanese martial art, which descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective armour (bōgu). Getting to move around a lot gives her the opportunity to release tension from her body.

    Hobbies

    Haruka loves being active. With the guidance of her uncle, she learned a lot of self-defense, which included one on one combat. She loves sword fighting as well, which is honestly her favorite.

    Haruka has always been fond of sword fighting, but she never knew why. She is clueless of her heritage, that she is a descendant of the last Samurai Takamori Saigo. But unlike the samurai, Haruka is unaware of the 7 Bushido Virtues (the samurai code). She may have the skills, but she still lacks the attitude...

    Weaknesses/Flaws

    Haruka is not good with her emotions. She's awkward, clumsy and she gets misunderstood a lot. She pretends to not care about what other people think of her when, in truth, she actually does. She is pretty sensitive and she often lacks self-control; hence, she tends to spend most of her time alone either kicking a tree, boxing a sack of rice, or just throwing rocks at a far distance.

    Haruka really tries her best to be nice. She tries her best to be friendly, but every day, it's like the world is against her.

    Other Relative

    Besides her uncle Hoshi, Haruka actually has another living relative -- her grandmother Haruki. She is known to be the town's crazy lady, a Wiccan, a shaman, a psychic who believes that everything in the world can only be explained through the power of the spirit. She believes in the existence of ghosts, demons, monsters, and the gods. She even gives Haruka a new beaded bracelet every once in 2 weeks or a month to protect her from evil spirits, which she believes are absolutely everywhere. Haruka doesn't mind her grandmother's beliefs though. She actually enjoys her stories and interests, but unlike her grandmother, she doesn't really believe in it fully. She puts it in mind, but not in heart.
